Kreuzwiesenalm
Located at 1,924 metres on the peaceful Lüsner Alm, Kreuzwiesenalm is a family-run mountain hut surrounded by alpine meadows and wide mountain views. Comfortable rooms, traditional South Tyrolean cuisine and homemade dairy products make it a particularly welcoming overnight stop.
Set at 1,924 metres on the sunny Lüsner Alm, Kreuzwiesenalm is surrounded by wide alpine meadows and an impressive panorama stretching from the Dolomites and Plose to the Sarntal and Stubai Alps. Its peaceful location makes it a particularly relaxing overnight stop, far removed from the busier mountain areas of the Dolomites.
The hut has been run by the Hinteregger family for generations and combines traditional mountain-hut character with considerably more comfort than a classic rifugio. Accommodation ranges from a simple 20-person dormitory to cosy pinewood rooms and suites, with half-board available. Food is an important part of the experience: the kitchen focuses on South Tyrolean dishes and the family produces its own dairy products and mountain cheese using milk from the alp.
It is the kind of place where the landscape invites you to slow down — arriving across the open pastures, enjoying dinner high above the valley and waking up to another quiet morning on the Lüsner Alm.
