Rifugio Auronzo

Set at 2,333 metres at Forcella Longeres, Rifugio Auronzo sits directly beneath the southern faces of the legendary Tre Cime di Lavaredo, one of the most recognisable landscapes in the entire Dolomites. From the hut, the views extend towards the Cadini di Misurina, Cristallo and the surrounding peaks of the eastern Dolomites. It is also an important point along Alta Via 4.

The history of the rifugio stretches back to 1912, although the original building was damaged during the First World War. It was rebuilt and inaugurated in 1925, destroyed by fire in 1955 and opened again as Rifugio Auronzo in 1957. Today, the CAI-managed hut offers 99 beds in rooms and shared accommodation, together with a restaurant, bar and panoramic terrace.

Its accessibility makes Auronzo lively during the day, but staying overnight offers a different experience: once the day visitors leave, you can enjoy the Tre Cime in the softer evening light and wake up surrounded by some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the Dolomites.
