Rifugio Boe

Set at 2,873 m in the heart of the Sella Group, Rifugio Boè stands on the vast rocky plateau between Val de Mesdì and Val Lasties. Surrounded almost entirely by pale limestone, the landscape has a striking, almost lunar character, making a night here a true high-altitude Dolomites experience. The hut is also an important stop along the Alta Via 2.

The refuge dates back to the end of the 19th century and, after being damaged during the First World War, was reopened by the SAT as Rifugio Boè in 1924. A major renovation between 2018 and 2021 transformed the historic hut into a modern and comfortable mountain refuge while preserving its traditional alpine character. Today it is managed by the Vaia family, who have welcomed hikers here since 1990.

With accommodation for over 70 guests, a restaurant and spectacular views towards Piz Boè, the rifugio is an unforgettable place to spend the night. Once the day hikers have left and silence returns to the Sella plateau, its remote setting becomes especially atmospheric.
