Rifugio Caldenave

Set at around 1,800 m in the peaceful Val Caldenave, Rifugio Caldenave is surrounded by green alpine meadows, forests and the clear waters of the Rio Casarine in one of the most unspoiled corners of the Lagorai. Far removed from the busier areas of the Dolomites, the hut has a wonderfully relaxed and authentic atmosphere, making it an ideal stop on a multi-day journey through this wilder side of Trentino. Inside, the welcoming mountain character continues with simple dormitory accommodation and a cosy common room, while the kitchen focuses on carefully prepared regional dishes made with selected ingredients, including a good choice of vegetarian and some vegan options. With just 24 beds, Rifugio Caldenave retains the intimate feeling of a true mountain refuge and offers hikers a memorable night immersed in the silence and nature of the Lagorai.
