Rifugio Cima d'Asta O.Brentari

Perched high in the Lagorai at the foot of Cima d'Asta, Rifugio Cima d'Asta – Ottone Brentari offers one of the most impressive high-mountain settings in this wild corner of Trentino. Unlike the pale limestone that characterises much of the Dolomites, the landscape here is dominated by the striking granite walls, slabs and towers of the Cima d'Asta massif, creating a completely different alpine atmosphere. The welcoming SAT refuge has 56 beds divided between dormitories and smaller rooms, some overlooking the mountain lake and Cima d'Asta itself. Its spectacular position makes it an important base for hikers as well as climbers exploring the numerous routes on the surrounding granite walls. Remote, dramatic and far from the more crowded trails of the central Dolomites, a night at Rifugio Cima d'Asta is a true high-alpine experience and one of the highlights of a multi-day trek through the Lagorai and Cima d'Asta massif.
