Situated in a grassy basin at the head of the Pramper Valley, in a charming location among the finest Dolomite scenery in the Park, the Sommariva al Pramperét Refuge is a popular hiking destination, especially on the Val di Zoldo side.

The Sommariva al Pramperét Refuge, a popular hiking destination, especially on the Val di Zoldo side, is located in the heart of the Prampér-Mezzodì mountain range, at the northeastern edge of the Belluno Dolomites Park.
It is located at the head of the wide basin that gives rise to the Prampér Valley, whose steep rocky slopes and immense scree slopes have a wild and decidedly "Dolomite" appearance, and is dominated by the imposing mass of Cima Pramper. The wild charm of these pristine places is, however, softened by the pleasant grassy basin of Pra' dea Vedova overlooking the refuge. Climbing to the refuge, we pass through a variety of environments (wetlands, spruce forests, high-altitude pastures, mountain pine forests, and rocky areas) rich in alpine flora and wildlife. The Sommariva al Pramperet refuge is also one of the last essential stopping points on the famous Alta Via delle Dolomiti no. 1, a 150-km trail that connects Lake Braies to Belluno.
