✅ Walk beneath towering Dolomite rock walls
✅ A compact but unforgettable Val Gardena hut adventure

This 2-day self-guided adventure brings you to one of the most iconic locations in the Dolomites: Forcella Sassolungo (2,685 m).

Starting in Plan de Gralba in Selva Val Gardena, you hike toward Passo Sella before following the famous trail that climbs steeply up to the Forcella Sassolungo. The final section leads through a dramatic rocky landscape into the narrow high mountain saddle where Rifugio Toni Demetz is located.

Rifugio Toni Demetz is truly a unique place to stay. Perched high between the massive rock walls of the Sassolungo group, the hut feels suspended in the sky. The panoramic views stretch across Val Gardena, the Sella massif, and beyond. Watching the evening light reflect on the vertical Dolomite walls is an unforgettable experience — raw, dramatic, and purely alpine.

After an incredible night at altitude, day two follows the classic Sassolungo circuit. The trail descends toward Rifugio Vicenza, located directly beneath the imposing Sassolungo rock faces. From there, you continue down into Val Gardena valley before returning to the starting point.

This tour is perfect if you are looking for a short but spectacular high-alpine experience in the heart of the Dolomites.
