Want more Dolomites? The Palaronda Trek is as Dolomites as it gets. Set in the Pale di San Martino — the largest massif in the Dolomites — this 4-day circular trek starts and ends in San Martino di Castrozza. Wild limestone plateaus, vertical walls and high alpine passes make this route a true classic. Compact in duration, big in scenery.
Here’s the detailed program:
🗓️ Day 1: San Martino di Castrozza – Rifugio Rosetta
A steady ascent from the valley through forest and alpine terrain to the high plateau of the Pala Group. Early arrivals can climb Rosetta Peak for panoramic views.
Overnight: Rifugio Alpino Rosetta “Giovanni Pedrotti”

🗓️ Day 2: Rifugio Rosetta – Rifugio Pradidali
Traverse toward the Fradusta Glacier with an optional detour to Cima Fradusta (2,939 m). Descend via Passo Pradidali into the upper Val Pradidali.
Overnight: Rifugio Pradidali
↑320m - ↓630m - 11 km - 4 hrs
🗓️ Day 3: Rifugio Pradidali – Rifugio Treviso
Descend through dramatic Val Pradidali and Val Canali beneath towering cliffs. Optional detour to Lago di Villa Welsperg.
Overnight: Rifugio Treviso (Canali)
↑480m - ↓1,020m - 9.5 km - 4 hrs
🗓️ Day 4: Rifugio Treviso – Rifugio Rosetta – San Martino
Climb through the Vallone del Coro to Passo Canali and return to Rifugio Rosetta to complete the circuit. Descent to San Martino by cable car or on foot.

What's Included?

A pre-hike Zoom meeting with a local hiking guide who will provide in-depth information about the tour

Along your self guided hiking tour, your overnight stays will be in traditional mountain huts. As a standard, we reserve spots in shared dormitories. If you prefer a private room, we’re happy to check availability upon request. Should private rooms be fully booked or unavailable in a specific hut, we will automatically secure a place for you in a dormitory. Please note that private rooms come with an extra charge due to higher costs.
✅ HAlf board (where possible)
This is breakfast and dinner in the huts. Your hut accommodation includes both dinner and breakfast, unless stated otherwise in the service description. This way, you can hike with a lighter pack and won’t need to plan additional meals for the evening and morning. Please note that lunch is not included, but can usually be purchased directly at the huts.
Optional extras

You can add an overnight stay before and/or after your trek – simply let us know during booking.
❓ Airport Transfer
We can help arrange airport transfers to and from the starting point of your hike – just let us know your travel plans.
How to book?
For booking confirmation we ask from 30 up to 50% deposit (depending on the choosen tour) of the total tour amount.
We check the accomodations availability and come back to you within a few working days.
If the accomodations are available the tour is confirmed, balance is due at least 8 weeks before the tour start. If we don't get the accomodations for you, you'll get your money back! Sounds like a plan, right?
Yes, cancellations are possible – we understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is fair and transparent, and the conditions depend on how far in advance you cancel. You’ll find all the details clearly outlined in our Terms and Conditions, so you can book with confidence.
What's excluded?
❌ Tourist tax
You can pay the tourist tax directly at the accomodation (approx. 1,50€ per person per night)
❌ Lunch
Dinner and breakfast are covered – you’ll just need to grab your lunch at the huts en route. They usually offer hearty meals and snacks.
❌ Travel insurance
You are responsible for your own travel insurance. Be sure to check your coverage with your insurer before the trip.
❌ personal expenses
Any personal spending – like drinks, snacks, or souvenirs – is at your own expense.
