All details at a glance
✅ Ideal first hut-to-hut trek in the Dolomites — no technical difficulties
✅ Shorter and more relaxed stages than the classic Dolorama Trail
✅ Hike through vast alpine meadows and panoramic ridgelines
✅ Overnight stays in cozy and authentic mountain huts
Looking for a scenic hut-to-hut adventure in the Dolomites without technical difficulties? The 5-day Dolorama Trail is a perfect introduction to multi-day hiking in South Tyrol.
This panoramic route stretches along the sunny side of the Puster Valley, connecting wide alpine pastures, mountain passes and spectacular Dolomite views. Compared to the Alta Via 1 or Alta Via 2, the Dolorama Trail is less exposed and more forgiving, making it ideal for hikers with basic fitness who want to experience their first hut-to-hut trek.
In this 5-day version, the long opening stage of the classic Dolorama Trail is divided into two shorter days, with the first night at Kreuzwiesenhütte. This allows for a more relaxed start before continuing deeper into the mountains.
Highlights include the Rodenecker-Lüsner Alm, Würzjoch, the Peitlerkofel massif, Puez-Geisler Nature Park and the scenic Raschötz plateau above Val Gardena.
This tour is perfect for first-time hut hikers, active couples and anyone who prefers panoramic trails and manageable daily stages over technical terrain.
