✅ 4-day circular hut-to-hut trek through the wild Cima d’Asta massif
✅ Discover granite peaks, alpine lakes and historic WWI trails
✅ Stay in three authentic mountain huts: Caldenave, Consèria and Cima d’Asta
✅ Shorter daily stages make this the ideal option to enjoy the route at a steadier pace
Looking for a wild hut-to-hut adventure with more time to enjoy the mountains? This 4-day Alta Via del Granito explores the rugged landscapes of the Lagorai and Cima d’Asta massif, far from the busier Dolomite trails.
Starting and finishing at Malga Sorgazza, the circular route crosses remote valleys, granite passes, alpine lakes and historic WWI sites. Three nights in authentic rifugios let you experience the peaceful atmosphere of this lesser-known mountain region.
With around 36 km and 2,400 m of total ascent, the trek still requires good fitness and sure-footedness. Expect rocky and uneven trails, loose stones, granite boulders and some exposed passages, but no via ferrata sections.
Here's the detailed program:
🗓️ Day 1: Malga Sorgazza → Rifugio Caldenave
↑1,080 m – ↓730 m – 11.4 km – 7–7.5 hrs

🗓️ Day 2: Rifugio Caldenave → Rifugio Consèria

🗓️ Day 3: Rifugio Consèria → Rifugio Cima d’Asta
↑840 m – ↓190 m – 8.1 km – 4.5–5 hrs
Hike via historic Forcella Magna before climbing through dramatic granite terrain to Passo Socede and Rifugio Cima d’Asta at 2,473 m.
🗓️ Day 4: Rifugio Cima d’Asta → Malga Sorgazza
