✅ Spend the night at spectacular high-alpine huts including Rifugio Antermoia (2,497 m) and the famous Schlernhaus
✅ Experience turquoise alpine lakes, dramatic limestone towers and wide panoramic plateaus
✅ Finish your journey on top of the Sciliar – the famous “Loacker Mountain” of the Dolomites
This 6-day hut-to-hut tour connects two of the most iconic mountain groups in the Dolomites: the Rosengarten and the Sciliar.
Your adventure begins at Passo Costalunga (Karerpass), easily reachable by public transport from Bolzano. A short but scenic first stage leads you up to Rifugio Roda di Vael, where the glowing sunset over the Catinaccio cliffs introduces you to the magic of the Dolomites.
Over the following days, you hike beneath the dramatic Vajolet Towers and cross high alpine passes such as Passo Principe and Passo di Antermoia. One of the highlights is the turquoise Lago di Antermoia, surrounded by rugged limestone peaks at nearly 2,500 meters above sea level.
The route continues across the wild Duron Valley and up onto the vast plateau of the Sciliar. Your final night at Rifugio Bolzano (Schlernhaus) offers breathtaking panoramic views stretching from the Marmolada to the Sella Group and back to the Rosengarten where your journey began.
The last day leads you down through the scenic Bärenloch trail to Tires (Tiers am Rosengarten), with convenient public transport connections back to Bolzano or your starting point.
This tour is ideal for hikers looking for a classic Dolomites experience with moderate daily stages, spectacular scenery and authentic mountain hut hospitality — without technical via ferrata sections.
