Rifugio Bolzano

Located at 2,457 m on the Schlern plateau, Rifugio Bolzano offers wide open landscapes and some of the most panoramic views in the Dolomites.

Standing at 2,457 meters on the summit plateau of the Schlern (Sciliar), Rifugio Bolzano is one of the most unique huts in the Dolomites. Its position, high above the surrounding valleys, offers an extraordinary sense of openness and space.

The Schlern plateau is known for its wide, rolling terrain — a striking contrast to the vertical peaks nearby. This creates a distinctive atmosphere, especially at sunrise and sunset, when the surrounding Dolomites light up in every direction.

The hut itself is historic and spacious, reflecting its importance as a landmark in the region. Reaching it involves a steady ascent, but the reward is one of the most panoramic viewpoints in South Tyrol.
