Here's the detailed program:
🗓️ Day 1: Passo Falzarego – Rifugio Lagazuoi Circular Hike
↑ 630 m ascent | ↓ 630 m descent | 7.3 km | ≈ 4 h 40 min
Start your adventure from Passo Falzarego and follow the Sentiero del Fronte up towards Forcella Lagazuoi. The trail winds steeply to Rifugio Lagazuoi (2 752 m), perched atop Monte Lagazuoi with sweeping 360° views over the Dolomites. Optionally, continue along the Sentiero Kaiserjäger Steig for a more technical section (via ferrata gear recommended), or simply relax at the hut’s panoramic terrace with a drink and enjoy the sunset.
🍽️ Dinner and overnight at Rifugio Lagazuoi
🗓️ Day 2: Cinque Torri Hike
↑ 620 m ascent | ↓ 620 m descent | 12.5 km | ≈ 6 h
From the hut, follow the trail towards Croda Negra and Forcella Averau, passing Rifugio Averau with the option to visit Rifugio Nuvolau for exceptional views and a cappuccino stop. Continue to the famous Cinque Torri, the striking rock towers rising from the meadows, before looping around Torre Grande and returning via Rifugio Scoiatolli and Col Gallina to Passo Falzarego.
Note: The Lagazuoi Tunnels offer a fascinating optional detour through WWI history — we recommed booking a mountain guide for this experience.
All accommodations are pre-booked and include half board (dinner & breakfast). Just hike, relax, and enjoy the best of the Alta Via 1 in 2 days.
