Detailed Program – Alta Via 2 North (6 Days):
🗓️ Day 1: Bressanone → Rifugio Genova
↑ 950 m – ↓ 700 m – 16 km – ≈ 7 hrs
Starting from S. Andrea above Bressanone, take the cable car to Valcroce and hike via Rifugio Plose. A demanding ascent leads to Forcella della Pùtia before descending to Rifugio Genova.
🗓️ Day 2: Rifugio Genova → Rifugio Puez
↑ 950 m – ↓ 750 m – 12 km – ≈ 6 hrs
A high alpine stage through the Puez–Odle Nature Park. Cross panoramic ridges, scree basins, and high passes linking the Odle group with the Puez plateau. Snowfields are possible early in the season.
🗓️ Day 3: Rifugio Puez → Rifugio Pisciadù
↑ 760 m – ↓ 660 m – 10 km – ≈ 5.5 hrs
Traverse the vast Puez plateau, passing alpine lakes and limestone saddles. After crossing several cols, descend toward Passo Gardena and continue on exposed but secured trails beneath the Sella massif.
🗓️ Day 4: Rifugio Pisciadù → Rifugio Castiglioni (Marmolada Area)
↑ 750 m – ↓ 1300 m – 16 km – ≈ 7.5 hrs
A long and demanding day across high plateaus and exposed terrain, with optional via ferrata sections. Pass Boè and Passo Pordoi before following the scenic Viel dal Pan toward the Marmolada.
🗓️ Day 5: Rifugio Castiglioni → Rifugio Contrin
↑ 520 m – ↓ 560 m – 12 km – ≈ 5 hrs
Descend on historic mule tracks through forests toward Penia, then climb gently into Val Contrin. A quieter stage with wide views of the Marmolada and a relaxed approach to Rifugio Contrin.
🗓️ Day 6: Rifugio Contrin → Passo San Pellegrino
↑ 700 m – ↓ 810 m – 11 km – ≈ 5.5 hrs
Climb through wild alpine terrain to Passo delle Cirelle, one of the highest points of the trek. A long descent across open plateaus leads via Rifugio Fuciade to Passo San Pellegrino.

What's Included?

We arrange all hut reservations along your itinerary, so you can focus on enjoying the hike.

A pre-hike Zoom meeting with a local hiking guide who will provide in-depth information about the tour

Along your self guided hiking tour, your overnight stays will be in traditional mountain huts. As a standard, we reserve spots in shared dormitories. If you prefer a private room, we’re happy to check availability upon request. Should private rooms be fully booked or unavailable in a specific hut, we will automatically secure a place for you in a dormitory. Please note that private rooms come with an extra charge due to higher costs.
✅ HAlf board (where possible)
This is breakfast and dinner in the huts. Your hut accommodation includes both dinner and breakfast, unless stated otherwise in the service description. This way, you can hike with a lighter pack and won’t need to plan additional meals for the evening and morning. Please note that lunch is not included, but can usually be purchased directly at the huts.
Optional extras

You can add an overnight stay before and/or after your trek – simply let us know during booking.
❓ Airport Transfer
We can help arrange airport transfers to and from the starting point of your hike – just let us know your travel plans.
How to book?
For booking confirmation we ask 30% deposit of the total tour amount.
We check the accomodations availability and come back to you within a few working days.
If the accomodations are available the tour is confirmed, balance is due at least 8 weeks before the tour start. If we don't get the accomodations for you, you'll get your money back! Sounds like a plan, right?
Yes, cancellations are possible – we understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is fair and transparent, and the conditions depend on how far in advance you cancel. You’ll find all the details clearly outlined in our Terms and Conditions, so you can book with confidence.
What's excluded?
❌ Tourist tax
You can pay the tourist tax directly at the accomodation (approx. 1,50€ per person per night)
❌ Lunch
Dinner and breakfast are covered – you’ll just need to grab your lunch at the huts en route. They usually offer hearty meals and snacks.
❌ Travel insurance
You are responsible for your own travel insurance. Be sure to check your coverage with your insurer before the trip.
❌ personal expenses
Any personal spending – like drinks, snacks, or souvenirs – is at your own expense.
